Chasing Rainbows (beginning’s of a song)

100_2566

You can only go so far in chasing rainbows.

The colors that you see, fast, fade away.

The prize you wished to take will mist in gray.

You can only go so far in chasing rainbows.

(The rain to paint an emerald glen.)

(The tears will fall but then rescind.)

You found your hope.

You walked a mile.

Will this treasure offer a return?

Probably not what you’ve hoped for in the end.

(For joy comes in giving not in storing things on shelves.)

(Joy comes in knowing you have loved your fellow man well.)

You can only reach so high.

These colors, you try to contain, are not just for yourself.

But as you gaze, this will not satisfy.

These colors are more than what you’ve got.

You were ne’er a rainbow.

You’re just a mold made of clay.

And that’s my song for the day.
