Summer’s Awakening

Like lightened breeze and palm born trees;

hush, I see the river bend.

Aldergove is green again.

And with her tears dew is born.

Nearest now is summer’s morn.

Oh, hearken unto me this day…

when children sing and mother’s bake.

And father finds a garden rake.

And all is subdued by warmth at noon.

Where there is no room for sadness or gloom.

Mid-May led to June…July is yet to come full bloom.

Oh, please I need not to know-est these…

But there-in is pastures green.
