Tea’s a Must !!

In attempting to enjoy a cup of tea…

I tend to douse it with too much cream.

And in cooling the heat the flavor pales.

Or if left untasted awhile tea turns bland.

Lukewarm tea, in a cup, is ne’er flavorful.

That’s the time I put the kettle on again.

In remaking, seeping, leaf can escape.

And so the need to return the kettle

to the circular burner.

  1. Thank you so much for your helpful reply, Anita! I have corrected the granule confusion replacing the word with “leaf” instead.

As far as the peace poem, would my recent writing’s apply:
Iron heart’s or Adverse Descend? Or I could write another 🙂

  2. I was intrigued by the cuppa, using granules. I have only ever used tea bags or leaves. I like the shape of the poem which highlights the ritual. I am enjoying your poetry very much.
and I also have a mission today:

We have 100 contributions to date, and I am trying again to rope in as many contributors to the Poets for Peace challenge (in place until this the end of August). The many voices in response to this have been fantastic, and I’d love you to add yours (again, if applicable) if you can. Feel free to use an existing piece of writing or a new one asking for peace and the troubled times in which we live.

If you are interested, please leave your poem in the comments section of Neha’s bog and it will be added. https://forgottenmeadows.wordpress.com/2016/07/16/calling-all-poetscreative-minds-to-a-grand-collaboration-poets-for-peace/comment-page-5/#comment-19287
