fun yellow bus

Yellow bus.  Yellow bus.

Why are you making such a fuss?

Honk.  Honk.

Hurry.  Hurry.

Don’t delay.

The bus is waiting.

Best be on your way.

Up three steps – one two three.

Then onto the seat, I go.

I wave at mom.

She waves at me.

I’ll be back before two-thirty.

Green car.  Green car.

Are you planning to travel far?

Down this bumpy, frumpy, country road.

If your wheel pops will you need a toe?

In winter, the weather is cold.

My coat, toque, and gloves will help keep me warm.

When it’s chilly.  And there’s lots of snow.

As I’m playing outside, white snowflakes

brush over my eye-lashes, nose

and red, rosy cheeks.

Red Sled.  Red Sled.

Swoosh, there it goes down a long hill.

After it stops can I stand still?

Blue bucket.  Blue bucket.

In summer, I fill this up.

Along the seashore, I’ll make more – sandy sea castles.

See a starfish?  See seashells?  See the seagulls squawk and shrill.

Orange leaf.  Orange leaf.

Tossed in the cool, autumn breeze.

Many gather under my feet.

And crunch-crunch as I walk down the street.

Orange pumpkins – carved in autumn.

Make happy yellow-glow faces.

Because of the candles lit inside – on Halloween.

In spring, everything is new.

Green buds in the glen.  Or soft pink petals on a thin stem.

Tiny newborn birds.  In a round brown nest.  Their voices are softly heard – chirpy chirp.

Grey fluffy kittens – meowy meow.  And a Siamese mother cat.

My two, new, purple rubber boots!

I can splish-splash in the puddles and not get my feet wet.

When it rains, and I wear my galoshes.

Each season is fun – spring, summer, autumn, and winter.

What’s your favorite?  Do you have one?

Colorful Zoo Animals

giraffe cute

(clip-art photo)

(page one)

I see a giraffe.

Spotty and tall.

Black spots cover yellow fur.

His eyes are big and round.

Long eye-lashes go up and down.

Can this tall, animal see me?

From way up there where he eats

green leaves,

off of the trees.

Whistle-whistle goes the wind.

Strong gusts cause branches to sway.

And my blue hat blows away.

To roll down a long, brown trail.

I see tall, legs come my way.

A shaggy, yellow, mane.

And mangy, short tail turns, goes,

swish-swash.

Curious eyes peer into mine.

You look fine.

“Tall, graceful is your kind.”

I say to the giraffe.

Then off I go to see what, next,

I can find

at the animal zoo.

The Santa train is here again!

very cute

A choo choo is coming your way!

The conductor’s cab is red.

Red as a barn shed.

A passenger car is next.

The passenger car is purple.

Purple as a yummy plum.

Out come the people to visit family!

A round, tank car is next.

That car is black.

Inside the barrel is sticky, black oil.

WHOO WHOO!

The next cargo car is round too!

It is orange.

Like an orange you eat at breakfast.

Inside this car is wheat.

Feed for horses, cows, and sheep.

CLICKETY CLACK CLICKETY CLACK,

go the train wheels along the track.

WHOO WHOO, the engine lets out steam!

The conductor pulls the horn,

TOOT TOOT

Now, see the brown flat cars come along?

They piggy-back white semi-trailers on top.

Inside is juice and frozen food.

WHOO WHOO!

See grey steam go up in the air!

CHOO CHOO!

CLICKETY CLACK CLICKETY CLACK

Now, see the pink pigs come down the track.

They look out from inside their yellow car.

I bet they have come far!

WHOO WHOO!

CHOO CHOO!

This next box car, it is green.

Inside you can find toys!

CHOO CHOO!

Santa and his elves help unload them.

Now, a boy or girl can open a present on Christmas eve.

See, Santa wave goodbye.

Off the train goes again.

WHOO WHOO!

blue caboose is the last.

The engine inside pushes the train from the back.

This locomotive is a helpmate.

CHUGGA CHUGGA CHOO CHOO!

Goodbye train!

See you next time you come through.

CLICKETY CLACK CLICKETY CLACK

I see a train go down the track.

Train’s go fast along the rails.

To deliver and pick up loads along the trails.

A big, red, cabin is the first to see.

The engineer waves to me.

Inside a motor powers the train.

So that grain, coal and box cars are delivered again.

Trains make a lot of noise.

Sometimes box cars are full of toys.

Chugga Chugga, now, inline are five, orange, box cars.

Inside, the grain stays dry if it rains.

Chugga Chugga Toot Toot

Some black tank cars full of coal

shake off soot and make the brown ground black.

Oh, look!

Now, what do I see?

A cattle car rattles on past.

Those cows must find the scenery pretty.

While they pass through the city.

Clickety Clack Cling Clang,

A big ship loads fish onto the train.

That train will travel far again.

I hear a cluck and I hear a coo.

As if those cows had nothing to do.

Next to them chickens bock and stew.

Hope this train will soon be back.

Colors of Autumn (child’s Poem)

DSCN2181

I see a leaf.

Orange and green.

Autumn gleams!

I see a tree.

All in red.

Red as the barn shed.

I see pumpkins.

Many orange pumpkins.

In field’s with bumpkins.

I see a wheelbarrow.

Full of red apples.

Wonder, can we sample?

I see poppies.

Orange and red poppies.

Wind blown and toppy.

I see an acorn.

Brown as can be.

Fallen from a tree.

I see squash.

Yellow by fall.

Edible for all.

Little fish, swim

Do you see any fish?

Swish – Swish

in the water.

——

Oh, look! I see an otter.

His skin is black and shiny.

He has large dark eyes.

——

My My

——

Keep looking.

——

Oh, look! I see a whale.

He swims in the blue sea.

His spout sprays.

Water goes UP.

——

Swish – Swish

——

What else do you see?

I see my family.

My brother and me.

On my head is a red hat.

My brother’s is fisherman’s green.

My mom applies sunscreen.

That protects our skin.

——

This beach has deep, soft sand.

Summer is such fun!

This brown sand

can sift through my hands

——

Swish – Swish

——

Still no tiny fish.

To see go

Swish – Swish

But at the sea shore

I find a seahorse.

And many sea-shells.

I hold one to my ear.

How can this be I hear the sea?!

——

Oh, my!

——

My My

My feet feel ticklly!

Little guppies swim over

my toes.

——

Swish – Swish

My Colorful World

I have alligators in my soup.

One is pink and one is blue.

Add them up and it makes two.

——

One plus one equals two.

——

I have socks. One pair I have.

And these socks make me glad.

Because they have orange polka dots.

Many, many orange polka dots cover my yellow socks!

——

Yellow sun you are just one.

One of many things I see.

Like the deep – deep blue sea.

Or a cat that follows me.

——

This cat, Calico, is so stripy.

A stripy orange and black!

Now he follows me to the back.

The back yard is where I play.

——

On my slide I zoom DOWN fast.

But on my swing I fly UP high.

UP I go to touch the sky!

With my yellow and orange polka dot socks!

——

While I swing I spot my orange trampoline.

And a pool that’s round and cool.

It cools me down when I’m hot.

Because in summer my body sweats.

——

“See this?!”

“My pool has fish.”

——

One is red. And one is brown.

One is just a silly clown.

They can jump THROUGH round hoops.

Then swim past green reeds.

All the fish swim freely!

——

Summer is fun. I sweat in the sun.

And I run, run – run – run.

Will I run out of fun?

Sometimes I have to rest.

At quiet-times I color my best.

Learning my colors !!!

Fields in shades of purple are on display.

Dainty little buds glow in the sun light.

Some farmers plant these flowering plants.

——

Have you visited a lavender farm in spring or summer?

——

At home, a lavender potpourri bag adds scent to the air.

By hanging them on a door knob or anywhere with a small hook.

Maybe at the entrance nook.

——

These bags go in your cloth’s drawer too.

——

But a small, triangular shaped, lavender bag is to soothe.

While placed near your pillow at night.

Or covering your eyes and blocking out any light.

——

I like purple !

——

When it lights up the sky with fireworks.

Or pops over my mouth with bubblegum stickiness.

Sometimes I dress like a purple princess.

My brother, he’s the purple Statesman.

And under these purple play blankets I hide.

This tent will serve as my home for now.

——

PURPLE PURPLE PURPLE

——

Purple bubblegum. Purple blankets.

Purple bags.

Purple fields and lavender sunset sky.

——
